Compassion Weavers - The Saint Luke Haiti Mission

If we don't help our children integrate into society then it's our failure. We need to look for solutions to help the poorest children and create employment for them. Thus, the St. Luke Programs were born in 1999, as a response to the need of what has been witnessed in the slums and on the streets.

80% of the population lives under the poverty line on less than $2 a day (Global Security). Unfortunately, some of these young people gain a sense of entitlement from their childhood experience. The reality is that the unemployment rate is estimated to be at 90% and the literacy rate is 45% (Global Security). Thus, these projects are designed to not only create jobs, but to also create a healthy competition and interaction among workers and develop lasting relationships with colleagues from other settings.

The St. Luke program continues to provide the poorest areas educational opportunities in the street schools, water delivery, dignified burials, movies in the margins, and disaster relief programs. Find out how you can help by visiting compassionweavers.com.
